HE IS RISEN!

April 12, 2009 by Leah Stirewalt Leave a Comment

In the blessed words of Luke,

On the first day of the week, very early in the morning, the women took the spices they had prepared and went to the tomb. They found the stone rolled away from the tomb, but when they entered, they did not find the body of the Lord Jesus. While they were wondering about this, suddenly two men in clothes that gleamed like lightning stood beside them. In their fright the women bowed down with their faces to the ground, but the men said to them, “Why do you look for the living among the dead? He is not here; he has risen! Remember how he told you, while he was still with you in Galilee: ‘The Son of Man must be delivered into the hands of sinful men, be crucified and on the third day be raised again.’ ” Then they remembered his words.

Luke 24:1-8 (NIV)

Good Friday

April 10, 2009 by Leah Stirewalt Leave a Comment

Without fail, I remember more Good Fridays with rain than those with sunshine. As I watched the rain pour down and listened to the thunder shout this morning, I realized that although the sun may not be shining…the Son IS shining!!! The eternal light brought forth through the death of Jesus on the cross so many years ago, will NEVER be extinguished. There are those that choose to deny Him now and the sacrifice made by Him for us on the cross, but one day “every knee will bow, of those who are in heaven and on earth and under the earth, and every tongue will confess that Jesus is Lord”. I long for that day when the naysayers will be hushed, when the ridiculers will ridicule no longer, when the doubters will know the truth, and when He will finally get the praise He’s so worthy of. As for me now, I am amazed that He loved me enough to die such a horrific death for sinful me. And…to think…He did it for many, but He would have done it for only one! WOW – what a Savior!!!

Meet Leah

Leah StirewaltI became "twice widowed" when my beloved prince, Joel, went to his Heavenly home after a brief and sudden illness on February 12, 2017. I’m in a place of shock and devastation, but I intend to use this format to journal my second widow journey, much like I did my first. It’s my open journal, my electronic oasis, and it’s often the place I find true healing as I allow myself to “come clean” with my feelings. Read More...
